Staffing for 2017 in the junior school
Te Pihinga is the name of our syndicate which includes Rapanui, Ūkura and Raekura, Years 3-5. This year Whaea Wairere is our team leader, and Whaea Melissa, Matua Tīpene Wairere and I will all be working with your tamariki. I will be teaching in Raekura , and Whaea Wairere Whaea Melissa, Matua Tīpene will share teaching the Tau 3 and Tau 4.
Uiui whānau

Ko te whāinga, kia mōhio wawe mātou he aha kā kaupapa whakahirahira ki tō whānau, he aha kā mahi pārekareka ki te tamaiti, ā, ka whakarite tātou i ētehi whāingaa motuhake māna, he whāinga ako, he whāinga oranga, he whāinga reo me te Māoritangaa anō hoki. Hai reira hoki mātou whakaatu ai i te aka o ngā kaupapa ako mō te tau; inā kitea he take māhau e uru ai, tīwaha mai! Whakapā mai ki a au hei whakarite wā mō koutou.
Whānau interviews
On Wed 1st Feb we will be available at kura between 9am and 3pm for you to come in for a short whānau interview with your child/ren. The aim is to make sure we know before the year starts what's important to your whānau, what your child enjoys and that we make some goals together for their learning, for their life skills, and for their language and culture. That's also where we can take you through the overall planning for the year; when you see something you could contribute to, speak up! Contact me to book a time.
Kai te kai rorerore tātou!
Hei te pō o taua Rāapa tonu (1 o Hui-tanguru) tū ai he kai rorerore mō tātou katoa, ka tīmata ā te 5 karaka. Mā te kura te mīti e utu, kai te tonoa koutou kia mauria mai he huamata. He āheitanga tēnei e hui tahi ai tātou, e hui ōpaki tātou hai mua i te tīmatanga o te tau, tae noa ki ngā whānau hou.
We're having a BBQ!
That night (Wed 1 Feb), we are having a BBQ for all our whānau at kura which starts at 5.00pm. Kura will pay for the meat, and we ask you to please bring a salad. This is an opportunity for everybody to get together informally before kura starts, including new whānau.

First day of school!
Your tamariki start back on Friday 3rd Feb at the normal time. At 10am there will be a pōwhiri for new staff and students. Following that is a long weekend, then we really get into it.
