Te Wāhanga Tuatoru - He akomanga hou!!!

Tīkina atu i tuawhakarere
I te ao kōhatu
Ngā mōhiotanga o rātou mā
Hei kawe i a tātou i roto i te ao tūroa
Kua takoto kē te whāriki i rarangahia e rātou
Wānangahia, tuakina kia tau
Rangahaua ki maumahara
Manakohia kia whiwhi ai
Te mātauranga Māori motuhake
(Te Marautanga o Aotearoa)

Take hold of the knowledge of our ancestors, to carry us in this contemporary world
The foundations have already been laid, discuss, debate in order to understand
Research to remember, Practice to retain, the essence of Māori knowledge.

Kua tīmata te wāhanga hou!
E hīkaka ana ngā pouako, e harikoa ana ngā tauira, ā, kua rite mātou ki te ako!
He rangitaki hou tēnei mā ngā akomanga o Te Pihinga, nā te mea kua hono ngā akomanga a Rapanui me Ūkura. I ngā hararei i tango ngā kaihanga whare i te pakitara i waenga i ngā akomanga, ā, kua puta mai he wāhi hou mā tātou ki te mahitahi.

The new term has begun!
The teachers are excited, the students are thrilled, and we are ready to learn!
This is a new blog for the classrooms of Te Pihinga, due to our classrooms Rapanui and Ūkura combining.
Over the holidays the wall between the learning spaces was removed creating a vibrant new space for us to work collaboratively.

Anei ētahi whakaahua o te rangi nei...
Here are some photos from today...

He maha ngā kaupapa mīharo i tēnei wāhanga.
There are many exciting topics this term.

Tuatahi, e ako ana i ngā pūrakau e pā ana ki ētahi o ngā taniwha o Aotearoa.
Firstly, we will be learning stories about some taniwha of New Zealand.

Tuarua, ka haere tonu ngā mahi ki runga i ngā taputapu hangarau, ara ngā īpapa. Ka mahi mātou i roto i o mātou ake kete kūkara hei whakawhānui i ngā pūkenga reo matatini. Ka mahi rangahau hoki hei hanga whakaahua, pukapuka, ā, kiriata hoki.
Secondly, our work on our devices will continue. We will be working in our own google drives to expand our skills in te reo Māori. We will also be researching ways to create pictures, books and videos on our ipads.

Te papa hangarau - Ngā kupu hou

Ara, e rua ngā kaupapa hākinakina, ko te peke piu (he kaupapa kohi pūtea) me te kaipara.
We have two sport focuses, skipping (a fundraising event) and athletics.

Ka haere tonu mātou ki te whare pukapuka ia toru wiki.
We are still going to the library every 3 weeks

Ka tū ngā tuakana o Te Pihinga i te Cultural Festival hei te wiki tuaono.
The older students in Te Pihinga are performing at the Cultural Festival in week 6.

Ka whakahaere tonu a Matua Ramon i  te pāngarau.
Matua Ramon is still teaching maths.

Maumahara, kua tūwhera ngā kuaha o Te Pihinga i ngā wā katoa, ki te hiahia kōrero ki tētahi, te tiro haere rānei, nau mai haere mai.
Remember, the doors of Te Pihinga are always open if you want to come and chat with somebody or just pop in and have a look around, everyone is welcome.

Na ngā pouako o Te Pihinga
